David Markowitz

Principal Ecologist

David Markowitz served ad the principal ecologist and operations manager of World Parks, Inc. A conservation biologist and avid hiker, David previously worked with the U.S. Forest Service in Utah constructing trails and performing visitor outreach. He also worked with a forestry monitoring company in Israel using remote sensing and satellites to track illegal logging and wildfires around the world. As he studied the natural world, David became fascinated with the idea of nature being free to define itself without human intervention and brings that passion to his work with World Parks. Originally from Connecticut, David now resides in Florida and is a member of the IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas. David holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. in Conservation Ecology from the University of Michigan.
